HAE TUTORIKSI ULKOMAALAISILLE OPISKELIJOILLE!

Nyt sinulla on mahtava tilaisuus hankkia kansainvälistä kokemusta, joka varmasti näyttää hyvältä myös CV:ssäsi! Haemme nimittäin taas motivoituneita ja kansainvälisyydestä kiinnostuneita kv-tutoreita ensi syksylle! Kv-tutorin tehtäviin kuuluu auttaa ulkomaalaisia opiskelijoita sopeutumaan uuteen maahan, kaupunkiin ja yliopistoon. Varsinainen tutorin työ kestää opiskelijan saapumista seuraavat ensimmäiset hektiset viikot/ensimmäisen kuukauden, mutta yleensä senkin jälkeen ulkomaalaiset opiskelijat kääntyvät tutorin puoleen pulmatilanteissa. Tarjoamme tutorointiin koulutuksen ja tutoroinnista maksetaan palkkio.

Tutorien valinta tehdään mm. hakijan kansainvälisen kokemuksen ja motivaation perusteella. Ulkomaankokemus, tai kansainvälisessä toiminnassa (esim. JYYn kv-valiokunta/ESN) mukana oleminen nähdään etuna. Kielitaidoksi riittää hyvä englannin kielen taito, mutta muutakin kielitaitoa pääsee varmasti treenaamaan. Opiskelijat pyritään jakamaan ryhmiin ensisijaisesti siten, että he opiskelisivat samassa tiedekunnassa kuin tutorkin. Tämän takia valinnat riippuvat myös siitä, kuinka paljon kuhunkin tiedekuntaan tulee kv-opiskelijoita.

HUOMIO! Jos et ole aikaisemmin toiminut kv-tutorina, osallistuminen sekä haastatteluun että koulutukseen on pakollista ja siten myös ehto mahdolliselle tutoriksi valinnalle. Näin ollen ensisijaisesti emme voi valita opiskelijoita jotka oleskelevat ulkomailla kevään ajan. Kuitenkin siinä tapauksessa että emme löydä tarpeeksi tutoreita, voimme ottaa huomioon myös ulkomailla oleskelevien hakemukset. Heille järjestetään erillinen koulutus elokuun tutorkertauksen yhteydessä, johon osallistuminen on pakollista.

Tärkeitä päivämääriä hakua koskien, merkkaa jo kalenteriisi!

- haku päättyy 2.4. - ryhmähaastattelut 16.4. - tutorkoulutus (koko päivä) 3.5. - tutorkertaus elokuun tutoreille 1.8. ja syyskuun tutoreille 31.8.

Suurin osa opiskelijoista saapuu syyskuun alussa, mutta tarjoamme osalle tutoreista mahdollisuuden aloittaa tehtävät jo elokuun alussa.

DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A TUTOR FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS?

We are offering you a great chance to gain international experience and get a remarkable entry in your CV, because we are looking for a bunch of motivated tutors for international students who arrive in Jyväskylä for the autumn semester. The main task of the tutor is to help foreign students settle into a new country, city and university. The duties of a tutor last for the first weeks or the first month after the arrival of the foreign student, but usually the students turn to their tutor also later on when encountering problems. The tutors are paid a small reward and a one-day-long tutor training is organized for them.

The selection will be based on the applicant's international experience, motivation and possible activity in an international organization (e.g. ESN or the Subcomittee for International Affairs). A good command of English is required. In addition, an intermediate knowledge of Finnish is an asset. We try to arrange the tutor groups so that the tutor and the students are studying in the same faculty. Therefore the selections are also based on the amounts of foreign students that arrive at each faculty next autumn.

If you haven't worked as a tutor for international students before, you will be asked for an interview. Please notice that the interview and the tutor training are obligatory! Therefore we primarily cannot select students who are for instance on exchange abroad during this spring. However, in the case that we do not get enough tutors, we can also take into consideration the applications of those who are abroad during spring. A separate, obligatory training will be organised for them combined with the tutor revision session in August.

Important dates concerning the application process:

- the application time finishes 2nd April - group interviews 16th April - tutor training 3rd May (the whole day) - tutor revision session for August tutors 1st August, and for September tutors 31st August

Most of the students arrive in the beginning of September, but there is also the chance for some of the tutors to start their duty in the beginning of August.
